I have finally joined in the action on the Farmer’s Wife quilt-a-long! I have spent weeks trawling the flickr group and joining in some of the flickr discussion while I waited for my book to arrive.
I have procrastinated a LOT about joining this QAL, one minute I think there’s no way I have time to make 2 blocks a week for a whole year and then the next minute I’m back on flickr and cannot resist the gorgeous blocks and I get sucked right back in again!
I managed to make 5 blocks yesterday and I chose easy blocks so I could feel like I was making progress. They were even more fun than I thought they would be. I have recently started a bit of stash building so playing around with fabric choices was great fun. Plus it’s so nice making a quilt of only one block of each and not having to churn out loads of the same block.
Here are my first 5 blocks:
Block 1 Attic Windows:
Fabric is From Little Things and Hullabaloo
Block 16 Calico Puzzle:
Fabric is Loulouthi, Kaffe Fassett and I can’t remember what the purple spot is
Block 21 Contrary Wife:
Fabric is Hullabaloo and I can’t remember what the thin blue stripe is
Block 29 Economy:
Fabric is From Little Things and Prince Charming
Block 66 Periwinkle:
Fabric is From Little Things, Loulouthi and Hullabaloo
I think it’s safe to say that I am hooked!
