Received! Down Under Doll Quilt Swap 2b

Wow! On my birthday I received this gorgeous little darling from Sarah of Kit-Bik Quilts. The Down Under Doll Quilt Swap round 2 was held in the first half 2011. My partner never managed to send me one and the lovely Sarah felt so bad for me that she insisted on making me something. We agreed to having our own doll quilt swap on the side.

Sarah loves Liberty and I was so excited to receive this – isn’t it just beautiful! The 36 patch blocks are just amazing!

One of the prints Sarah used is the same as my Mozelle dress too! Sarah also generously included some pieced orphan blocks and some leftover fabric – eek!!!!

How beautiful is this print Sarah used for the backing:

One of my 2012 sewing goals is to start collecting Liberty prints. I have some scraps from quilts I have made previously but I dream of making a Liberty hexie quilt so I really need to start gathering!

Thank you Sarah – I absolutely LOVE it!

You can see what I sent Sarah here and my quilt from the swap here and Kate’s gorgeous mini here.
